APS is an association of highly qualified therapists who support one another through supervision and teaching. The aim of the group is to maintain standards and be able to refer clients appropriately to trusted colleagues. With over three quarters of a century of experience between us we also offer professional supervision and education to organisations and other counsellors. We have a special understanding of the way that substances such as alcohol can be misused by those suffering from depression and anxiety and how the illnesses themselves can actually be created by heavy alcohol misuse or addiction.

We offer a spiritual element to our services as we know how hopeless and helpless many people can come to feel when suffering in any of these ways. This web site shows you some of the options that are available and may lead to a new and more fulfilling life.

We also offer gateways to consultant psychiatrists, and to the most up-to-date addictions treatment centres in Europe including Nova Vida in Portugal. Details of these contacts appear in our links page. Patients who are referred via a consultant can use the majority of health insurance schemes to pay for their treatments. Those without cover can meet the costs personally.
